Polyethylene (‘PE’) pipes are used for most portable liquids and vapours or encasement applications around the world and are fast taking over material markets as the preferred option for pipeline installations. The installation and handling are simpler, faster and in many site conditions are more practical to the installer. The pipes may be delivered in coils or cut lengths depending on the pipe type and size and they provide flexibility in the design and installation. The conduits are fused using the “Butt-Welding” joining method or coupled together using external Electrofusion couplers to create a continuous rigid pipeline suitable to various construction requirements and resistant to aggressive soils. The joins are as strong as the pipes, are leak proof and do not leave weak spots along the alignment as in other type pipe construction. Where required, the internal bead can be removed and eliminate solids from being stuck at the joins.
